COQAA is a local chapter of Quality Assurance Institute, and as such, actively promotes two industry recognized QAI certifications: CSTE (Certified Software Tester) and CSQA (Certified Software Quality Analyst).
In addition to these two QAI professional certifications, there are several more that focus on software quality and testing, as well as certifications focused on business analysis and project management.
To learn more, visit Software Certifications, a QAI sponsored web site that provides an overview of certifications offered, instructions on how to become certified, and detailed descriptions of each particular certification.
As the IT industry becomes more competitive, the ability for management to distinguish professional and skilled individuals in the field becomes mandatory. Certification demonstrates a level of understanding in carrying out quality assurance principles and practices. Acquiring a professional designation of CSTE or CSQA indicates a professional level of competence in the principles and practices of quality assurance in the IT profession.
One of the most effective ways to study for the certification exam is to attend a COQAA hosted prep course. These three day courses provide a deep dive into the CBOK (Common Body Of Knowledge) on which each certification is based. To see upcoming CSTE and CSQA prep courses, visit our Events page, or contact our Education Chair directly via email.
